The purpose of Embrace is to provide a safe, non-judgmental place where LGBQIA+ transgender and gender nonconforming people of all ages will have access to culturally competent, affordable, comprehensive outpatient mental health, substance abuse and dual diagnosis services, community resources, and advocacy.

Mary is Founder and board president of Embrace Counseling and Resource Center, Inc. A licensed clinical psychologist and mental health expert, she has worked in the mental health field for well over 20 years in a variety of positions and settings. She has extensive experience working in both the psychosocial / recovery model and in traditional community mental health programs. Mary has diverse therapeutic skills and her behavioral health experience includes, acute inpatient psychiatric, outpatient settings, residential, partial
hospitalization, facilitating psycho-educational groups, providing outreach in the community, crisis management, state and federal regulated documentation, working on crisis teams, assessment, treatment planning, interventions, and community integration.
Corine is board secretary for Embrace Counseling. With more than 15 years in the mental health field, her experience includes, first responder sexual assault training, crisis management, addictions work, acute inpatient psychiatric, outpatient settings, residential, partial hospitalization, facilitating psycho-educational groups, providing outreach in the community, state and federal regulated documentation, working on crisis teams, assessment, treatment planning, interventions, and community integration. A highly effective and skilled clinician Corine is obtaining her PhD in Clinical Psychology. She has taught, lectured, and presented at a variety of settings including the 2004 American Symposium on Victimology in Topeka Kansas.
Justin is Staff for the Embrace Counseling. His experience includes state psychiatric and developmental facility and outpatient psychiatric settings, assessment, crisis management, treatment planning, individual and group therapy. He has excellent knowledge of community resources and has worked with a variety of people of all ages, ethnicities, multicultural, economic and financial backgrounds, cognitive and functioning challenges and difficulties. Justin provides therapy to clients exploring gender identity, who have transitioned or are pursuing transition, as well as families, children and spouses of LGTBQ people. He is trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including existential-humanistic, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, stress reduction, person-centered approach.
Advocacy and Collaboration
Embrace Counseling is available for advocacy and to participate in community events to support and educate the community on mental health issues, LGBT -transgender process and transitions, and other related issues that protect the dignity and humanity of people of all diversities and backgrounds.
Embrace Counseling collaborates and partners with other gender identity and transaffirming mental health providers, agencies and organizations to provide the most comprehensive services, options and resources for you and your family members. Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gay (PFLAG), University California Irvine (UCI) Gender Diversity Program and Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) are excellent Gender Identity resource to link you and your family to in the community.
